TEMSA Indicates its power at Busworld Turkey 2010 Fair

TEMSA, a brand by which Temsa Global has the identity of an independent manufacturer in the coach and midibus segment, was exhibited at Busworld Turkey 2010 Fair /25.03-28.03/.

TEMSA has indicated its power with 5 models and proved to be a pioneer in its segments in Turkey and a pier of the world's most prominent fair Busworld.


At the fair at which PRESTIJ Super Deluxe Euro 4 was first displayed, the diesel and CNG models of AVENUE were also exhibited.


Apart from new SAFİR, renewed for intercity passenger transportation for tourism purposes, TOURMALIN IC - manufactured for foreign markets - were presented to the sector's professionals.


A press meeting was also held which Temsa Global CEO – Mr. Mehmet Buldurgan also attended. During the meeting, TEMSA brand development and the mission undertaken by Temsa Global in the sector were shared. Mr. Buldurgan said that their achievement was the result of their work performance models depending on sustainment, innovation and brand value.


TEMSA delivers custom made SAFARI HD for Belgium cycling team

Early in March, a TEMSA SAFARI HD touring coach was delivered to the ‘Johan Bruyneel Sports Management’ cycling team. This successful team has been at the top of the Pro Tour for years.
This touring coach was brought into use especially for the 7-time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong and his team-mates. For this new season, a totally new fleet was purchased, consisting of the TEMSA SAFARI HD touring coach, 14 Nissan personal vehicles and several SUVs.
"Cycling is a national sport in Belgium, which is why TEMSA is so pleased to support this initiative with our TEMSA SAFARI HD, which is known for its durability and comfortable ride," says Wim Vanhool, Executive Board Member of Temsa Europe.
The TEMSA SAFARI HD is 12.2 m long and has a 410 HP DAF engine. The German company Orten Fahrzeugbau further customized the touring coach to meet the desires of the team:

- 8 luxury seats
- 2 separate living rooms
- 2 showers
- 1 toilet
- 1 fully equipped kitchen with freezer, ice-machine and dishwasher
- 1 washing machine and 1 drier in the trunk


The TEMSA SAFARI HD has the most advanced audio-visual equipment, including satellite connection and digital TV reception to be able to communicate 'live' during the contest and, of course, to be able to follow the team. A powerful yet quiet generator in the trunk provides the power required when the vehicle is on idle. In addition to the large air-conditioning unit on the roof, there are also 3 extra A/C units to provide the cooling required.
In addition to the normal back-and-forth trips to the hotel, the touring coach will enable the athletes to prepare for the race or to cool down afterwards.

BUSWORLD KORTRIJK WAS A SUCCESS FOR TEMSA

“It was a tremendous success,” says Wim Vanhool, Executive Board Member of Temsa Europe, “Customers appreciated the way we hosted them and in particular the confidence that we were able to create in terms of services and environmental performance.”

TEMSA products are sold in 46 countries of which at least 9 were represented at Busworld and returned with signed purchase orders. The key markets for TEMSA are still Benelux, Germany, Scandinavia, Italy and France. The preferred vehicles for years have been the touring coach TEMSA SAFARI HD in stainless steel and the midi-coach TEMSA OPALIN in touring or intercity version. The city bus TEMSA AVENUE also made a great impression and constituted a majour part of the total sales at Busworld Kortrijk.

"Choosing Hall 7 exclusively for us was of course a bit risky," says Ali Murat Atlas, Managing Director of Temsa Europe, "But we were confident that customers would look for us and we have taken every opportunity that was available to remind them that we were waiting for them in Hall 7. Once they reached us, many enjoyed staying for a long time. Now everyone knows where to find us for the coming Busworld Kortrijk exhibitions."

TEMSA presented the world première of its AVENUE HYBRID which drew a lot of attention and effectively positioned us as a legitimate partner for the development of city buses for environment-friendly public transportation. The shift towards environmentally-conscious products and services was valued by over 500 visitors who preferred a digital product brochure instead of the paper version. In addition, TEMSA had a tree planted on behalf of each of these visitors.

TEMSA AVENUE CNG AVAILABLE FOR BULGARIA

TEMSA - one of the majour old continent's independent bus and coach manufaturers is ready to promote to European market the CNG version of the new city bus TEMSA Avenue.



The type approvals of the 12 metres long TEMSA Avenue CNG were received in September from UK and the test of the CNG applications is assigned in October in Germany. The awaited time scope for getting the CNG homologation documents is in November. That is the time when the Turkish manufacturer is going to accept CNG orders from Bulgaria and to be one of the master players in the city bus sector in the East European country where the natural gas vehicles are of high demand.



THE BULGARIAN PREMIERE

The Bulgarian premiere of the diesel TEMSA Avenue version powered by DAF EURO V Engine, is during the Autumn Technical Fair in Plovdiv in the end of September 2009. TEMSA Avenue is the first low floor bus manufactured by the Turkish giant. This model's first European premiere was nearly an year ago during Hannover IAA'08. At the beginning of 2009 summer in Vienna during the UITP World Congress and Mobility & City Transport Exhibition was the World premiere of the CNG modification.



THE CNG VERSION

The remarkable capacity of the gas tanks is just one of the first advantages of the Avenue model. The total capacity of 1280 l (4 x 320 l) assures great mobility without refill stop. Among other advantageous feature is the great passenger capacity of 30 seated and 55 standing passengers. Further, the 3 double doors are inswinging and door width access is 1200 mm.



The CNG Vehicle is equipped with CUMMINS engine with maximum output 320 h.p. at 2 000 rpm. The transmission is automatic. The standard model goes with Allison T375 R but as an option there is Voith D864.5 available. The fuel system is BOSCH Motronik. The maximum speed is 103 km/h. The unloaded bus weighs 11 900 kg and the capacity of the front and rear axles is 6 300 kg and 11 500 kg. The standard equipment of the CNG version includes: ECAS; Digital Destination Indicator ( Front, Side, Rear); Heated Rear View Mirrors; Tiltable & Adjustable steering column; Kneeling availability; Defroster for windscreen & driver; Wheelchair platform for 2nd door (manuel). As options there are available: Air Conditoner S?trak 32 Kw; Auxilliary Heater; Auxilliary Heater Fuel Tank; Radio CD.

30 units of the upgraded TEMSA model Prestij Super Deluxe already on Bulgarian roads

30 units of the upgraded TEMSA model Prestij Super Deluxe were delivered to Plovdiv transport company Hebros Bus.
They are equipped with 27 seats and are extremely effective when used both on city roads and for short intercity routes.

TEMSA Global introduces a first in the world "BedoSeat"

Temsa Global marked a first in the world with a system that enabled the 5 rear seats of Temsa Global’s most preferred vehicle Prestij Super Deluxe to recline and form a bed-seat, named as “BedoSeat”. That bed-seat is created by shifting the five seats in the last row to the front. The bed, which is 210 cm long and 60 cm wide, provides the drivers the opportunity to rest on long hails.

TEMSA – achieved goals and global presence

Parallel to its structuring, Temsa Global had determined two important strategic goals for 2008. One of these goals was to make investments abroad to contribute towards becoming a regional factor. Temsa accomplished this goal with its new Egypt plant. The other key goal was to handle truck units as separate organization. This goal was also accomplished by putting the Adapazari plant into service. Temsa thereby increased the number of its production plants from one to three within one year and Temsa confidently proceeds toward its goal of becoming a “global” brand with its three plants in total in Turkey and Egypt.

Below follow some of the significant sales in Europe and more precisely on the Balkans:

Italy
In July, Temsa executed the sales of 18 Tourmalin IC fleet vehicles with DAF PR 228 Engine to Arfea in the Itaian market. This sale has positioned Temsa to fulfil the interurban coach demands from the Italian market.
In August, Temsa executed its second fleet sale with 24 Tourmalin IC 12 m vehicles to Arpa in Italy’s Abruzzo region. With the DAF PR 265 type engine used in the vehicles for the first time, the Tourmalin IC continues to be an economical interurban solution for the Italian market.

Serbia
A company based in the city of Kikinda in north of Serbia received the 6 Tourmalin, 2 Safari RD vehicles. Together with the 3 Safari RD, 1 Opalin 9 the vehicles of the company had acquired in 2007, the number of Temsa vehicles in the company’s fleet is increased to 12.

Bulgaria
Bulgaria’s First League football team Lokomotiv Plovdiv has a brand new Safari RD. That remarkable vehicle was delivered on 2 August at the football season opening ceremony.

Kosovo
Upon purchase of 4 Opalin 9 and 1 Safari RD vehicles on 2007, Kosovo police department purchased 2 more Opalin 9 vehicles this year and expanded the Temsa fleet in their organization. The vehicles will be used in services targeting safety in Kosovo’s capital city Pristina and its environs.

Turkey
Temsa Global emphasizes the support it gives to sports with the Safari vehicles provided to Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Galatasaray, while the teams were preparing for the Season 2008/2009. Turkey’s leading coach, midi coach and light truck producer Temsa Global continues to support the sports. Temsa Global allocated Safari HD vehicles to the three football giants of Turkey. While Besiktas and Fenerbahce were preparing for the season in their training camps in Austria, and Galatasaray in its training camp in Germany, the transportation of the team members were provided with the comfort of Safari HD. The 59-seater stainless steel Safari HD vehicles that serve the football giants throughout their amping period contained toilettes, a kitchenette, navigation system, 220 volts electricity, DVD and 2 LCD monitors. Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Konyaspor teams use specially designed Temsa Diamond vehicles on their national travels.


TEMSA - “Busbuilder of the Year 2008”

In line with its vision to be a world-class global brand, TEMSA has taken place in major international fairs in its target markets in the last quarter of 2007.

TEMSA participated in the largest bus trade fair, 18th Busworld Kortrijk in Belgium where the company exhibited 7 different products on an impressive 1560m2 stand. TEMSA enjoyed the growing interest of some 25 thousand visitors from over 100 countries.

Temsa was especially delighted about a very special success during 18th Busworld Kortrijk. TEMSA was awarded “Busbuilder of the Year 2008” by the fair organization committee for its sustainable success in Europe.

The Turkish manufacturer participated at the Commercial Vehicles Fair in Istanbul between November 21st and 25th. The Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association organized the fair for the first time. TEMSA exhibited with 4 TEMSA brand vehicles and received warm interest. That year the fair was currently regional but applications to make it an international event have been completed. The expectation is that in 2009, it will be one of the biggest and important automotive events in the region.

Other important fairs that TEMSA attended in cooperation with its distributors in the respective countries were Tbilisi Motor Show in Tbilisi, Georgia between October 25th and 27th, International Fair of Bus & Bus Business in Verona, Italy between November 21st and 24th, and UITP 1st Middle East North Africa Congress and Showcase on Public Transportation in Dubai, UAE between November 25th and 27th.

TEMSA – success in Europe and beyond

Cyprus
Temsa recently entered the Cyprus market with a specifically designed Right Hand Drive Safari HD and Opalin. With the precious help of its Greek distributor, Panergon-Sfakianakis, Temsa adapted its right hand drive version of the Safari HD and Opalin that are currently sold in the United Kingdom to the legal requirements of the Cyprus market. Cyprus is now the 43rd market where Temsa's products are distributed.

Switzerland
Swiss Post chose Temsa Tourmalin and ordered 4 at once. Temsa's Swiss distributor, WRBWaltisb?hlreise, said this was an important milestone for Temsa in Switzerland. The 4 Temsa Tourmalin will be used exclusively for school transportation.

France
Dietrich Carebus Group, Temsa's distributor in France, has delivered 43 Temsa Tourmalin to two major customers: Cars P?rier (33 units) and Cars Fauvillais (10 units). The customers appreciated the flexibility of Temsa Tourmalin equipped with a Cummins engine as the smartest choice to re-juvenate their fleets.

Spain
After the two first sales of Temsa Opalin in Spain (to Transvia S.L. from Valencia), Temsa presented the Opalin to a select audience of Spanish operators of the Extramadura region in Caceres in January 2008. 70 people from 23 different companies had the opportunity to get acquainted with Temsa, with the Opalin and with MS Vehiculos Integrales S.L. from Toledo, Temsa's regional dealer for Spain.

USA - unprecedented success at Motorcoach Expo (16-20 January 2008)
Since January 2007 Temsa has concretised its collaboration with Trident Industries to import the Temsa TS35, a stainless steel 35 feet (10.6m) vehicle with a Caterpillar engine, to cater to the US market. After a first glance at the UMA show in New Orleans in 2007, this year's show in San Francisco meant concrete sales. More than 50 orders for the TS35 are already confirmed and Temsa is confident the market has more potential for this year.

Jason Cash, the President and Founder of Trident Industries', Temsa's distributor for the USA, is catering to the unique 35 feet segment for which there are no competitors in integral construction with stainless steel.

The Temsa TS35 was designed by Temsa to meet all the needs of the US market. The combination of a number of attributes: 35" length, stainless steel, 42 seats, ample luggage capacity and integral construction make it a unique and very desirable product against the traditional "cut-away" market.

Temsa completed its establishment in Germany and Austria

Temsa is committed to be close to its customers. Its network extends to more than 40 countries in Europe, the Middle East, the Gulf region and North Africa. Temsa - “Official VIP Transporter” in Brussels

More than 2.500 people attended this summit on “Greening the Economy, New Energy for Business”. President of European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, introduced the plenary debate on the 21st of the month. Temsa is proud to contribute to the success of the summit by offering VIP transport service with 3 Temsa VIP Opalin. The Temsa Opalin transferred some of the most prominent guests from their hotel to the conference venue.

Temsa is entirely committed to the environmental concern of end users and is currently researching alternative fuels options through its R&D Company, Temsa R&D Technology A.S., located in Istanbul (Turkey).

Considerable increase of TEMSA's sales in 2007

TEMSA cumulative exports figure has reached 177 million USD in 2007. This marks an increase of 11% compared to 2006. TEMSA have exported a total of 993 coaches and midi coaches in 2007. TEMSA also looks back on a successful year on the domestic market where sales of coaches & midi coaches increased by 29% to 1.255 units. Overall, the total sales of coaches and midi coaches have reached 2.248.

In 2008, our target is to export a total of over 1.100 coaches and midi coaches, while reaching a turnover of 200 million USD.

Temsa’s facilities cover a total area of 550 000 m2 and a covered area of 105 000 m2. The factory’s production capacity is 2 000 coaches, 2 500 midi coaches and 7 500 commercial vehicles. TEMSA’a quality certificates include ISO 9001-2000; ISO 9001; ISO 9000; ISO 14 001; OHSAS 18 001.


Dupont :Temsa's New Strategic Partner

Ranking among Turkey’s leading exporters with its prosperous business operations and strategic partnerships, Temsa A.Ş. has recently launched a plan to set up a strategic partnership with DuPont with a view to improve and upgrade its paint plant process.

16 June 2005; Adding another strategic partnership to its previous successful ones, Temsa A.Ş. decided to build a strategic partnership with DuPont, which has manufacturing plants in many countries of the world and offers a wide range of products and services to many markets.

At the ceremony held at Temsa's Adana plant on 16 June 2005, Mr. Jean Luc Duramy, DuPont’s Director for Turkey, the Middle East and North Africa, expressed his gladness about being a strategic partner of Temsa, which undersigned countless prosperities with its strong production identity and thanked Mr. Mehmet Buldurgan, General Manager of Temsa, and all other individuals who contributed to the partnership.

Contacted eachother for the first time in November 2004, Temsa and DuPont decided to perform a paint line test at Temsa’a paint plant in January 2005. Following the completion of a series of productive tests as well as analyses conducted on the basis of the quality, technical support and cost criteria defined by Temsa’s Project Team, the parties agreed to set up a Strategic Partnership.

Achieving a first in Turkey, Temsa plans to increase the capacity of its paint plant by 17% by in the short run and its annual painting capacity in terms of 9-meter motor vehicles by 34% in the long run by using DuPont’s products exclusively within the framework of the strategic partnership set up with DuPont. Additionally, once the required paint plant process conditions are achieved, DuPont will offer 5-year paint warranty for Temsa’s motor vehicles, which warranty period may later be extended to 10 years depending on the investments planned. Thus, while travelling on the roads of Europe, Temsa’s vehicles will have the chance to receive assistance from DuPont, an international company, with paints and painting. Within the framework of this technical collaboration, Temsa’s staff members will receive training from DuPont in latest paint technologies, which are developing and changing every other day, and be capable of playing leading and enterprising roles whenever needed. Temsa will have access to DuPont’s laboratories located in Europe and will also have the opportunity to outperform its competitors in terms of foreseeing the future with the help of international specialists. According to this strategic partnership, DuPont will supply all paint materials, implement the negative inventory method, perform paint stock management and paint Temsa’s motor vehicles.

Austrian Postbus opts, once again, for Temsa

It all began about 2 years ago when 5 vehicles were test driven, over a 6-month period, on several different bus routes of Austrias state-owned post-bus company: Postbus AG. Thanks to the very positive results, 62 Safari Intercity’s were ordered back then; these were delivered to Postbus AG in 2003.

Postbus has just placed a follow-up order with Temsa for a further 45 buses. The models involved this time round are the basic Safari as well as the Safari Intercity. Postbus has gone for three different lengths, namely 10.66, 12 and 12.80 metres and the order includes both manual and automatic gearboxes. A bus trailer can be coupled to the shortest version.
